####David Budden####

David Budden is a PhD candidate in the Systems Biology Laboratory. David graduated as the University Medallist with a BEng (Hons) and a BCompSc from the University of Newcastle. David’s research involves modeling the regulation of gene expression using machine learning and information-theoretic approaches, with particular focus on the interactions and feedback mechanisms between transcription factors, histone modifications and microRNAs in cancer.

####Greg Bass####

Greg Bass is a PhD candidate in the Systems Biology Laboratory. Greg completed a Bachelor of Science (Biomedical Engineering) at the University of Virginia. Greg is investigating calcium signalling pathways in cardiac muscle that cause a contraction and those which cause cell growth, with application to hypertrophic heart disease.

####Matt Faria####

Matt Faria is a PhD candidate in the Systems Biology Laboratory. Matt graduated with a BSc (Computer Science) from Carnegie Mellon University. Matt’s research is on computational modelling of the interactions between nanoparticles (particularly nanomedicines) and biological systems, in close collaboration with the Nanostructured Interfaces and Materials Science Group lead by Professor Frank Caruso.
